Work programme 2012-2015
28th European Students' Convention and PASCL First Annual Conference
The 28th European Students' Convention and the First Annual Conference of the Peer Assessment of Student-Centred Learning (PASCL) project will be held in Florence, Italy, from 28 to 30 September 2014.
The European Students' Convention (ESC) is a biannual event organised by ESU where students’ representatives from the national unions of students from 39 different European countries, other stakeholders, experts and policy-makers have the opportunity to meet and discuss about the recent and future developments of higher education. Previous conventions have showed that they are an important and relevant contribution to higher education policies in Europe and a great meeting point for exchanging points of view between students, policy-makers and other stakeholders.
ESU usually organises the ESC in the member state holding the EU Presidency at that point of time, in order to create synergies with the country presidency’s priorities on education. The event is usually also included in the official agenda of the Presidency Semester and given great attention.
During the Italian Presidency, we are organising the 28th European Students’ Convention in Florence, from the 28th to the 30th of September 2014. The main topic of the ESC28 will be Student-Centred Learning (SCL), covering issues from the presidency priorities such as eLearning and internships and from the Bologna Process where the proposed new ESG include SCL also for first time. ESU's project PASCL will be the main topic for discussion where the first stages of that work will be presented to the participants.
The ESC28 aims to discuss the effects of European higher education reforms, and especially on the SCL implementation, with European higher education students, other stakeholders, experts, policy-makers and relevant key players.
This time the ESC will be co-organised by UdU, the national unions of students in Italy and a member union of ESU. An expected date of the participants' arrival is 28 September and departure 30 September.

Student Centred Learning
The Peer Assessment of Student Centred Learning (PASCL) Project aims to assist in implementing sound student-centred learning (SCL) strategies and approaches at institutional level and to foster a culture of SCL in higher education institutions across Europe.
The PASCL project organized of a long series of annual events on Student-Centered Learning, which contributed to the necessary shift in bringing more visibility to the implementation of SCL and importance of the teaching mission of HEI in general.
