The Regional Conference on Higher Education (CRES 2008) was held in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia, for 4 to 6 June 2008. The event was organized by the International UNESCO Institute for Higher Education in Latin America and the Caribbean ( IESALC) and the Ministry of National Education of Colombia.
CRES 2008 conception of Higher Education (ES) is framed as a public good and as a strategic tool for sustainable development and inter-agency and international cooperation and practical regional integration, seeking the creation of a Common Area of Knowledge and Higher Education in America America and the Caribbean.
