International seminar on Quality Assurance: Trust and Recognition
The European Commission in association with the Flemish Department of Education and Training organised the international seminar on Quality Assurance: Trust and Recognition on 20 September 2013 in Brussels.
The European Commission and the Flemish Department of Education and Training are organising a seminar on quality assurance in higher education in Brussels on 20 September 2013. Registration is open to all interested parties and attendance is free of charge.
Around 75 experts from higher education institutions, Quality Assurance agencies, accreditation bodies, student bodies and Ministries of Education of European and Asia/Pacific countries are expected.
The seminar will be an opportunity to hear about and discuss recent developments in Europe with the Quality Assurance Standards and Guidelines, the Quality Assurance Register and the Qualifications Framework, as well as new tools such as the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education and Learning Agreements with institutions located in third countries. Senior figures from Asia will explain what is happening in their countries so that comparisons can be made and actions decided to enhance the quality of exchange and mobility programmes, the value of joint degrees, and the employability of graduates with qualifications or credits from abroad.
The seminar will also include an update on the new Erasmus+ programme, with emphasis on the new opportunities for cooperation between Europe and the Asia/Pacific.
