Curricular Reform Taking Shape - Learning Outcomes and Competences in Higher Education
The Tuning Contribution to Higher Education Reform: Curricular Reform Taking Shape - Learning Outcomes and Competences in Higher Education - Brussels, 16 June 2006.
Universities across Europe are starting to use learning outcomes and competences as a way of expressing the content of their learning offer. This new approach contributes to student-centred learning, connects better with the labour market and fits the emerging European
Qualifications Framework for Lifelong Learning.
The European Commission supports initiatives which help universities to prepare for the move to learning outcomes and competences. The main initiative in this field is the project "Tuning Educational Structures in Europe", with its extensions to Central and Eastern Europe, the Balkans, Russia and Latin America.
The European Commission invites project participants and other interested parties to take part in a conference to exchange views on this important aspect of curricular reform, on 16 June 2006, Brussels.
